NDC Has No Claims to the 3 Occupying Seats in the Ashanti Region Come 2020 – Wontumi

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako a.k.a Chairman Wontumi has dared the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to either run to them for issuance NPP cards or forget the 2020 general elections.

Addressing some party faithful today, Wednesday, 1st May, 2019 at a rally in Kumasi, he said that, the Ashanti Region has 47 seats and out of that, the NDC has 3 of them.

According to him, Asewase, Ajura and Sekyere Afram Plains are all territories within the Ashanti Region and come 2020, he will go for the 3 in addition to the 44 seats the NPP has.

He said that, the NDC sneaked out of their way and stole the seats citing Member of Parliament (MP) for the Asewase Constituency, Mr. Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka.

“The 2020 general elections is not going to be like the 2008 and the 2012 elections where the NDC rigged the elections making the whole of Asanteman sorrowful. It’s either they run to the NPP for issuance of party cards or forget the 2020 general elections.” He said.

He said that, majority of the Kumasi roads are under construction and the residents see them, themselves.

He explained further that, the infrastructure and policies of the Akufo-Addo government are visible citing the National Health Insurance Scheme, Free SHS, Teacher Trainee Allowances, Nurses Training Allowances and others.

He said that many of the interventions under former President John Dramani Mahama were cancelled and would not allow the NDC come back to destroy such policies.

He continued that Mr. Mahama during his 8 years activities could not bring any social intervention but corruption which his father passed onto him.
