What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, and it describes the logic behind the ranking of websites when you perform a search on a particular search engine. Although it may seem tedious and painful at the start, SEO can actually be rather fun and easy to implement.
In short, SEO can be defined as a marketing technique that helps increase the quantity and quality of the traffic to your site.
SEO (or search engine optimization) describes a series of steps that you can take to rank higher on Google and thus get free organic traffic from various search queries.
Advanced Keywords Search:
SEO begins with picking the right keywords (which you can very well find using Google’s Keyword Planner or Ahrefs). My strategy there is to start by picking medium to low competition keywords and then slowly build up my post to target more competitive terms.
If you are looking to rank then you should definitely include LSI keywords (keywords that are synonyms to your target terms).
Semrush: The best tools about SEM Rush are the link analysis and and keyword analysis tools. The keyword and link reports, comparisons, and dashboards are very robust in SEMRush so you can get very broad information from dashboards are get very granular with specific back linking or keyword analysis reports.
If you do In-House SEO and Digital marketing I highly recommend using SEMrush. It has great features from both a monitoring standpoint and working standpoint.
SEMRush allows me to have a second opinion when it comes to SEO tools and techniques. It also provides a valuable keyword analysis tool. Additionally, it allows me to build links for local SEO which has been a huge help with local SEO link-building and monitoring. It allows me to monitor my back links in-depth to ensure that I don't have spammy or poor links connecting to my site, and to search for the best place to create new local links.
The SEMrush dashboard is very straightforward. The first thing you see is a snapshot of Domain Analytics showing a quick breakdown of current keywords and traffic coming from organic and paid sources. Below that are widgets for each facet of your most recent SEO project. So for my PCMag test project, I was presented with boxes for me to set up tools like position tracking, a periodic site audit, backlink auditing, and brand monitoring. While tools like Moz and Ahrefs also integrate with social media sources and conduct brand monitoring and mention tracking, SEMrush is the only SEO tool I tested that can also double as a social listening platform.
The main SEMrush left-hand navigation bar has five main tabs: Domain Analytics, Keyword Analytics, Project, its Lead Generation Tool, and My Reports. This wave of reviews is focused primarily on ad-hoc keyword research, because that's what business users will find themselves using most often when identifying the best possible search engine results pages (SERP) to target with an rank optimization strategy. As such, I focused my testing largely on SEMrush's Keyword Analytics tooling.
